Important documents
You should bring the following documents:
Travel documents
Valid passport or, alternatively, national ID card in case you are EU/EEA/Swiss national
Educational documents
Originals and copies of your highest completed education, if applicable translated into German or English and legalized
Students should have their educational documents from secondary school onwards at hand
Personal documents
Depending on the situation:
- If applicable: Austrian visa or residence permit, suitable for the reason of stay
- Birth certificate: if applicable legalized and translated into German or English
- Marriage certificate: if applicable legalized and translated into German or English
- Birth certificates of biological and adopted children: if applicable legalized and translated into German or English
- If applicable: driver's license/international driver's license
- If applicable: vehicle registration and proof of ownership of the vehicle
Health-related documents
Proof of a (travel) health insurance that is valid in Austria
If applicable: vaccination record (for yourself and family members joining you)
If applicable: personal (medical) documents such as diagnoses, diagnostic findings or similar
Please take care of the customs and import regulations for travellers.
Money
Credit card and/or bank card, if applicable/available
We recommend that you bring cash (Euro) for a couple of days, cashless payments are not possible everywhere. Please check if your bank/credit card can be used in Austria with your local bank.
