Course selection
Studying in Austria requires a high degree of self-organization. You can decide which classes of your curriculum you complete because you have to register for classes. In the curriculum, you can find the necessary modules and classes that are required to finish your studies. There is also a sample schedule for every semester that you can follow.

Registration deadlines
In order to register for courses and other courses, you must be enrolled as student and have access to Uni Graz Online as a student. The exact registration dates for the courses can be found directly in the course description in Uni Graz Online.
Usually, the registration phase starts already in mid-September for the winter semester and in mid-February for the summer semester.

Sports courses
You can find the course search for USI sports courses here. Registration takes place exclusively online. You will not receive ECTS for USI sports courses.
In order to register for courses online, you have to link the student account (Uni Graz Online) with MY USI DATA. Only when the two accounts have been linked, you can register for USI sports courses. Otherwise you have to send a registration form with the confirmation of study to usigraz(at)uni-graz.at.
German and foreign language courses
You can register for "treffpunkt sprachen" language courses. For positively completed language courses, you receive ECTS, which you can use, for example, as a free elective for your studies. Further information
Re-registration (continuing your studies)
You must re-register as a student each semester. After the first semester, you can re-register by paying the tuition fee and/or student union fee (ÖH-Beitrag) in full. Please note the payment deadlines for re-registration. If you do not re-register on time, you will be deregistered from your studies ("exmatriculated"). You can find the payment details and how much you have to pay in your Uni Graz online student account.
Student email address
With the activation of your Uni Graz Online account, you also get your own student email address. Check this account regularly, as all study-related information about courses or from the university will be sent to this address.
Student card
The Uni Graz Card is your student card, with which you have access to rooms or use it for printing/scanning/copying, or the library. In order to get the card, you have to upload a photo of yourself in Uni Graz Online Further information about the card & collection.
You have to activate the card and renew it every semester.

Wifi, VPN access
You can log into the university wifi called "eduroam" with your student account. Further information
If you want to use certain electronic resources (for example, eBooks from the library) off campus, you need to establish a VPN connection. You can find out how this works and what you need here.
Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
It's mandatory to set up an MFA in order to access certain services, such as your emails, outside the university network. Here you can find more information
Library
The University Library (UB) is one of the largest libraries in Austria. You can borrow and use books and journals, but also digital resources. All information on usage, borrowing can be found on the website of the library. In addition to the main library, there are 12 other institute or subject libraries.
By the way, there are also numerous study or group rooms and a 24/7 learning zone that you can use as a student.

Where can I get a confirmation of studies?
Quite often you will need to show a confirmation of studies. You can download those confirmations yourself through your Uni Graz Online student account. The documents are digitally signed and can be used for several purposes. You can find the confirmations under "Enrollment confirmations" in Uni Graz Online.
