Studying in German language
If you would like to study a programme offered in German language, you must have at least a German language proof of A2 level (according to CEFR) to apply. You must have at least C1 German language skills to actually start your studies at the university. You have to submit the language certificate with your other application documents.

You already speak German, but not at C1 level? No problem!
You can catch up on subjects such as German, maths, history or physics while attending “Vorstudienlehrgang” - a sort of pre-university or preparatory programme. You cannot apply directly for this course, but must apply for the desired study programme at the University of Graz. When your documents are checked, it will be determined whether and which subjects you need to attend at the preparatory course.
Costs
Attending “Vorstudienlehrgang” costs approx. 500€ per semester. You do not pay any tuition fees at the University of Graz while you are attending this course.
Duration
Between 3 and max. 5 semesters - depending on how many subjects you have to complete, the exact regulations can be found in your letter of admission.
